We contracted with Rod Ekland and his company Ecklundson Construction Ltd. to complete a renovation of our home. This renovation consisted of the construction of a new three car garage and the conversion of the pre-existing garage space into living space. This living space consisted of two new bedrooms, two new bathrooms, a kitchen and living room. The project was completed from May to August 2008.
We have been asked by Rod to provide a reference and are very happy to do so. We are very happy with the results of the project and would unconditionally recommend Rod and his company to others.

- Rod was able to make the whole process worry free for us and handled all aspects of the process from start to finish. This included representing us for building permits, dealing with the architect, sub-contractors, building inspectors and all other agencies. All of these functions were well coordinated and timely. Rod appears to have access to all sub-trades as needed in a very busy marketplace.
- Professional attitude: all employees we encountered were highly professional, considerate and respectful of themselves, our family, the neighbourhood and the worksite. All employees were pleasant, friendly and hard working. The worksite was always left clean and there was minimal disruption to the neighbourhood despite major excavation etc. This was noted and appreciated by our neighbors.
- All work completed showed a high attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Rod has excellent communication skills. He was very quick to respond to calls and questions. He was always readily available to deal with any issues that arose and dealt with them expeditiously. Minor delays were communicated to us in a timely manner and Rod ensured that the project was completed on time to our satisfaction.
- Flexibility: Rod was very willing to work with us to minimize the disruption to our family during the construction process. As a result, there was little or no disruption. He was also willing to listen to our ideas and make suggestions to have our needs met. His suggestions always successfully provided an excellent compromise between good taste, quality and cost effectiveness (for example paint colours, colour schemes for tile, laminate floors and countertops).
In summary, we are very pleased with the work that was completed by Rod and his company and would unconditionally recommend his company to anyone who wishes to have quality workmanship completed at fair prices and in a reasonable time frame.
